Bei uns kann im Blütenhonig aus dem Supermarkt oder Markt zum Beispiel Honig aus China sein, denn von dort stammen ca. 40 Prozent des Honigs, den die EU importiert. In China wird Honig quasi industriell hergestellt, die Bienen werden dort nur als reine Honigtau-Sammlerinnen eingesetzt. Der noch unreife Honig wird den Stöcken entnommen und weiterverarbeitet. Er wird in der Honigfabriken getrocknet, gefiltert und mit künstlichen Enzymen versetzt. Immer wieder kommt der Verdacht auf, dass importierter Honig unzulässig mit billigen Zuckern und Sirupen gestreckt wird. In einer Pressemitteilung der EU zum Thema heißt es: "Honig ist das am dritthäufigsten gefälschte Produkt weltweit."

Bei unserem heimischen Honig erledigen die Bienen all das, was in chinesischen Fabriken künstlich passiert!
Der Honigtau wird im Stock durch die Bienen zu Honig getrocknet und die Bienen geben dem Honig Enzyme zu um ihn haltbar zu machen. Und besonders durch die Bienen erzeugte Enzyme machen den Honig für uns so gesund.

Es sind die Enzyme, die den Honig antibakteriell wirken lassen und damit auch wirksam in der Wundheilung. Viele betupfen entstehende Pickel mit Honig.
Auch bei der Behandlung von infizierten Wunden in Krankenhäuser wird immer häufiger Honig verwendet. Verantwortlich für die wundheilende Einfluss ist ein ganz bestimmtes Enzym namens Glucose-Oxidase hinzu. Dieses Enzym sorgt dafür, dass aus dem Zucker im Honig permanent in kleinen Mengen Wasserstoffperoxid entsteht, ein wirksames Antiseptikum."
